ORGANISING VETERANS.
COUNCIL MEMBER CRITICAL.
The question whether the Auckland Metropolitan Milk Council was justified in permitting its secretary, Mr. N. P. Chapman, to act as, orderly room sergeant of the Veterans' Guard and to perform clerical work in connection with the organisation of this unit in the council's time and with the council's equipment, was asked bv Mr. ,1. J. Goldstine, while the secretary pointed out that the compiling ot the rolls had entailed a certain" amount of clerical work.
Mr. Goldstine: Apart from this the position will not in future demand any work that cannot be performed by the secretary in his spare time.
