WOOL SEASON.

SALES IN DOMINION. TOTAL RECEIPTS £9,386,375. LOWER AVERAGE PRICE. I '•; Wool sold in Xew Zealand during th*j s g. year ended June 30 was valued at : £9.386.375, against £9,027,00.5 in the pre>. , vioue season, according to the annual n*' -' view just issued by Dalgety and Company, Ltd. The quantity sold was 7-0.202 bales, against 629,671 bales, an increase of 90,531 bales. The average price per lb. however, was 0.87 d per lb lower than that of the previous season, the hijrber realisation being the outcome of the greater quantity soldf Growers met the market freely, the review points out. and the wisdom of this polic-y was con filmed n* the season advanced. One highly satisfactory result of meeting the market is that the carry-over of greasy wool into 1039-40 will be light, the firm's estimate being 3S.S6i bales. Of this wool 17.361 bales are in _ brokers' stores and 11.504 bales in clients' sheds.
