"PADDY'S MARKET."
OTAHUHU KINDERGARTEN. The Mothers' Club of the Otahuhu Free Kindergarten recently held a most successful "Paddy's Market" to assist the ladies' committee in raising funds for a new kindergarten building.
Mrs. H. T. Merritt. chairwoman of the ladies' committee. introduced the Mayoress of Otahuhu. Mr«. Petrie, who officially opened the market.
TV" following winning babies received prizes from Nurse McConiiell, who judged the baby show: —Six months and under: Brian Hatlcy 1, Trevor Jensen 2; Pamela Brown 1. Janet Michael 2. Seven to 12 months. Kenneth Doyle 1. Grant Kellow 1; Valerie Peck 1. Dorothy Ball and Gillian Connelly equal 2. Thirteen to IS months: Francis Cooper 1, Dawn to 18 months: Francis Cooper 1; Dawn Ellerv 1, Mareella West 2.
Decorated dolls prams and tricycles were judged by Miss Dorothea Ryan, who made presentations to June Thompson best pram, Doreen Hill second pram; Dennis Pollard beet tricycle, Teddy Warren second tricycle; Evelyn Pee, Adrienne Lane and Judith Otto, special prizes.
Stallholders were: — Cakes, ladies' fomniitteo; sowing good?, Mosdames Pye, HiH ahd Pollard; produce. M<>sdanies Hotliam, Dorhyshire and Miller; jr.mble, Mrs. ilontjToiuprT. Wliitmore and Oiles; sweets, Misers H. Chandler and N. Eady; lucky fishing. Mrs. Woodcock and Miss Pearpp; afternoon tea. Mesdames England, Jones. Beattie, Pee. AreCirane and Pulmnn: baby show. T/ister and Oilman; decorated vehicles, Mesdame* Harris and Nicol.
