MR. H. D. MACE.

(From Our Correspondent.) HASTINGS, Tuesday. Mr. Herbert Darcy Mace, a well-known fancy bird breeder, of Hastings, and formerly of Auckland, has died at the age of 62. He was closely associated with the electrification of railway facilities in Hawke's Bay and other parts of the Dominion and had been stationed at Hastings for many years. He had retired from railway work only last month. He til a keen bird fancier, possessing one of the most outstanding collections in the Dominion. A successful exhibitor at many tfiows, he was also recognised as a competent judge.
