OBITUARY.
DR. B. G. MITFORD. | (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) GISBORNE, this day. The death occurred suddenly yesterday of Dr. Bertram George Mitford, who for the past 17 months has been practising in Wairoa. and who held an appointment on the hospital staff. Dr. Mitford attended to his duties in the hospital oil Monday. He had' been troubled for some time with heart symptoms, however, and his collapse is attributed to that affliction. He died at 8 a.m., shortly after a
seizure. . Before taking up his practice in I Wairoa Dr. Mitford had extensive experience in the medical profession, though he was still a young man. He was born in Auckland in 1900, his father being the late Mr. Bertram G. Mitford, at one time manager of the Bank of New Zealand there. Dr. Mitford was for some time on the staff of the Wellington Hospital and had spent some years in Samoa. On two occasions he made visits to the United Kingdom to extend his knowledge of the latest developments in medical practice. FW a short time he was in practice in Gisborne. He is survived by Mrs. Mitford, a daughter of Colonel Robert Allan.
