Saturdays Wedding.
GAUDIN—JAMES. BRIDESMAIDS IN BLUE. Blue delphiniums and double red gerberas decorated St. Barnabas' Church, Mount Eden, on Saturday night for the wedding of Miss Shirley Theresa* Clare James, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. Clare James, of Brighton, Melbourne, to Mr. Norman Marr Oaudin, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Gaudin, of Epsom. The wedding ceremony was performed by the Rev. G. R. Monteith. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a slim-fitting frock of J magnolia satin modelled on classical lines. From the heart-shaped neckline to the hem, the front of the frock was made with a narrow inset stitched panel which flared out below the waist in front of the gown and fell at the back to form a very long train. The bodice of the frock was shirred and the neckline was outlined with a stitched panel. The long sleeves, which were buttoned to the elbow, fell to points over the wrist, With her frock the bride wore a long tulle veil, held in place with a topknot of Christmas lilies. The veil was worn over the face as the bride entered the church and she carried a bouquet of blue delphiniums and Christmas lilies. The bride was attended by three bridesmaids, Miss Marjorie James (sister of the bride), Miss Corrie Macmeiken (Melbourne), Miss Robma Gaudin (sister of the groom), and a matron of honour, Mrs. V. Del a Varis. They were dressed alike in frocks of powder blue satin made with off-the-shoulder necklines gathered to form small pleated sleeves. The very full skirts were finished at the waistline with a pleated basque of the same material, which were tied to form loops in the front of the gowns. In their hair the attendants wore double red gerberas and they carried baskets of flowers to match. With their frocks they wore strings of pearlsj the gift of the bridegroom. The bridegroom was attended by Dr. I Howard Gaudin as beet man and the groomsmen were Paymaeter-Lieutenant R. S. P. Marrs, R.N., Mr. Noel Gleeson. and Mr. A. Hammer. Following the wedding ceremonv a reception was held at the Home of* Mr. and Mrs. J. De Marr, Rowan Road. Mount Albert. The drive leading to the house was decorated with coloured lights for the occasion, and later in the evening dancing was held in the ballroom. Mrs. J. De Marr was wearing a frock of white and silver brocade, with a white ermine wrap and a sAoulder spray of cyclamen. Mrs. D. Clare James received her guests wearing a frock of lettuce green and gold lame made with a full skirt and a small bolero. In her hair she wore a headdress of green ostrich feathers and she carried a bouquet of carnations, cyclamen and violets. Mrs. H. H. Gaudin, mother of the bridegroom, was wearing a frock of black matalasse crepe embroidered in gold. With it she wore a black hat and she carried a posy of autumn-shaded carnations, pansies and freesies.
