OLD THAMES BOYS.
REUNION OF MEMBERS
The first reunion of the 37th season of the Old Thames Boys' Association was held on Saturday evening in the Druid's Hall. Newton, the president, Mr. Tom Aitken. presiding over a pood attendance. The visitors included Mr. E. Watson, president of the Thames Old Boys' Association, also Mr. Tom Scott, a life member of the Auckland Association, who is returning to reside at the Thames after an absence of 40 years.
Many incidents of the early days of the Thames goldfielcls were related" during the evening by Messrs. Aitken. Watson. Scott and others. Mr. Scott, who took an active part in rowing at the Thames, and was one of "Tine" Savage's crew in the Haurakj whalcbo.it who beat Auckland's crack whaleboat orew for a stake of £200. described the race and the welcome received from the Mayor, Mr. W. Wilkinson, and residents on their return from Auckland, the steersman. ''Tine'' Savage, being carried shoulder high from the wharf to the council chambers.
DminK the evening musical items were rendered by Messrs. E. Watson. Lou Biokerton, T. Mullins. .Tas Lonorgan, A. Dobbs. J. Calvert, J. McMinn, W. Jameson, W. Hibbs and Pettv-oftieer Buckley, of H.M.S. Achilles, under the direction ot Mr. Will Purccll.
