W.C.T.U.

Remuera. —The Remuera branch of the W.C.T.U. held a meeting this week. Mrs. H. Kasper, the president, was in the chair. The initiatory service of the W.C.T.U. was read. Mrs. Kasper dealt with remits and resolutions, brought forward at the conference recently held in Wellington.

Ponsonby.—The monthly meeting of the Ponsonby branch of the Women's Christian Temperance Union was held in St. John's Methodist Hall yesterday. The vice-president. Miss S. Pvle. presided. The devotions were led by Mrs.. Christopher. The secretary reported on the work done at the temperance stall at the recent Winter Show, also on the amount taken at the W.C.T.U. stall 011 Poppy Day. The speaker for the afternoon was Mrs. B. Cassidy, J.P., who gave a talk on her recent trip to, China.
