Advice was received at a meetin-jr of the Nbrtheote Borough Council last night from the Treasury that consent to raise the waterworks loan of £4500, at 3* per cent interest and 2 per cent sinking fund, had heen Gazetted. The purchase and installation of a chloride gas plant was authorised, and it was decided that the 38 chains of new six-inch mains should be laid alnng the southern footpath in Onewa Road, starting near the Northcote High School, and connecting to the five-inch main at the corner of Church Street, with intersections at Church Street, Seaview Avenue. Fairfax Avenue, and Valley Road. The concrete lining of the main in Raleigh Road is also to be undertaken.
