SOCCER CHALLENGE.
(By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") DUNEDIN, this day. The Otago Football Association last niclit considered a letter from the New Zealand Association advising that Auckland had applied for permission to play Otaco for the Football Association trophy at tinned in on June 5. This date was regarded as unsuitable for Otapo owing to the Jonejs trophy match arranged with Canterbury for the same day. It is hoped to play the F.A. challenge match a fortnight later.
RIFLE SHOOTING.
THE AUCKLAND CLUB. THREE POSSIBLES TO J. H. KEARNEY. The final shoot of the reason for trophies was staged ot Penrose tiy the Auckland City Rifle Club. A feature of the afternoon was the triple possible scored by the club champion, .1. H. Kearney, who won the A grade scratch trophy, the I*. grade scratch trophy being annexed by his son, D. Kearney.
