HOSTILITY GROWS.

CAUCUS IN REVOLT. Mr. Lang's Resignation Openly Demanded. TWO RECENT DEFEATS. United Press Association. — Copyright- ' SYDNEY, April 27. The recent defeat of Lang Labour party candidates at two State byelections has intensified the hostility of the moderate elements against Mr. J. T. Lang's leadership of the State Labour party, "with the result that the Parliamentary Labour caucus is now in open revolt, insisting upon his resignation, with the view to the complete unity of the rival Labour factions in New South Wales. The Parliamentary caucus to-day decided by 15 votes to 11 to invite the Federal Labour party executive to intervene in Labour affairs in New South Wales, for the purpose of bringing about unity, and presenting a solid , front against the Menzies Government i in the event of a crisis in the Commonwealth Parliament. During the debate certain speakers openly suggested that Mr. Lang should resign. Mr. Lang, in reply, is reported to have said it was not the duty of the caucus to make decisions on policy. That was the prerogative of the annual conference, which also decided who should lead the party.
