The Xf«- Zealand ladies' foursomes golf tournament ended on tlic liiitt links today in a narrow win for Mrs. Lewis iHutt) and Miw K. White-Parsons (ChrmtchurdO, who boat Mr.'. Norman and jlrs. Ashe, the steady Hutt pair, 1 up. Tlie semi-finals in the niomina were played in Cold, drenching rain from the south, but the rain had stopped when the final started in the afternoon. Mrs. Xorman and Mre. Ashe were 2 up at the turn. The frame then s<?e-*awed in an interesting fashion until the pairs were nil square at the seventeenth. It looked as though Mrs. Xornian and Mrs. Ache would win when Mrs. Xorman found the ereen with her third and Miss White-Parsons pulled an iron approach to the loft of the green. Mrs. Ashe putted to within four feet of the pin. and Mrs. Lewis made a weak chip. However. Miss Whitr-Pansons ran down a 10-foot putt for a i>. and Mrs. Norman miseed the fourfoot Yiutt. for her opponents to take the honours by the smallest possible margin. The semi-finals resulted:—Miss WhiteParsons and Mrs. Lewis, beat Mrs. Munden and Mrs. Chapman (Hu,ttl. 6 and 4: Mrs. Ashe and Mrs. Xorman beat Mr*. Slater (Hutt) and Mrs. Crisp (Poverty Bay), 1 up.
