SOCIAL EVENING.
FIRST MEETING OF YEAS.
The Catholic Women's League rooms presented a gay scene last evening when the Dunedin Club held the opening meeting of its 1939 season. Bowls of brightly coloured dahlias, zinnias and marigolds decorated the rooms and the meeting took the form of a social evening.
The guests were received by Mr. J. A. Gow, vice-president, assisted by Mrs. (iow, who was wearing a frock of black Chantilly lace over Chinese green satin with a cherry-coloured spray and a matching sash. Flag bridge was played in the lounge and dancing was organised in the dance- room.
Members and visitors were welcomed by Mr. Gow, who extended a special greeting to Mr. and Mrs Harold Chapman, of Dunedin. Mr. Chapman is president of the Auckland Club in Dunedin.
