THIEVES RAID.

SERVICE STATIONS. TWO MORE LAST NIGHT. £32 IN CASH STOLEN. During the last week or so thieves have paid particular attention to service stations, no less than five having been broken into and cash takings stolen. Last night two more stations were raided, one in the city and the other in Great South Road, the thieves securing a total of £32. The largest haul was made at Cadman's Parking Station, Ltd.'s, branch at the corner of Park and Carlton Gore Roads. These premises were left securely locked at 9.30 last night when the staff ceased work. This morning employees found that entrance had been gained by a side window, and the office searched for money. Xo money had been left in the till, but a sum of £2.~> was stolen from .the. oflice, the thieves finding the place where the money was hidden. The burglary was carried out so quietly that, the occupants of a Hat above the station heard no sounds to arouse suspicion. Putty was removed from a window and butter smeared on the glass pane to deaden the sound when it was broken. Through the small aperture the thief or thieves entered. Visit After Midnight. Between midnight and 7.30 this morning the Triangle service station of Kowe Brothers, 2SO, Great South Road, was also visited by thieves, who stole £7 in cash from the till. In this case also they entered after breaking a window. The third burglary reported to the police yesterday was that committed at the S.O.S. Auckland Motors service station, Manukau Road, Royal Oak. After entering by tr side window the thieves forced a door leading from the workshop to the office and cleared the three tills of a total of ,t:io which had been left there as change.
