JOCKEY SUSPENDED.
AN APPEAL SUCCEEDS.
The Auckland District Committee last evening considered- the appeal lodged by Mr. L. Alderton, deputy stipendiary steward at the Rotorua Racing Club's meeting laet month, against the decision of the judicial committee of that club in taking no action in regard to alleged interference during the running of the Borough Handicap. The case had been before the District Committee previously, and had been referred back to tlic Uotorua club for rehearing. The District Committee found that O. Evans, apprentice jockey, was guilty of interference as alleged by Mr. Alderton, whose appeal w;n therefore upheld, and Evans was suspended for one month as from April 4, 1939. The suspension for one month of N. Howard, an apprentice jockey, by the Bay of Plenty Racing Club, was endorsed.
