SPLENDID TRAINING.
OTAGO DENTAL SCHOOL. VISITOR'S TRIBUTE. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent) DUNEDIN, this day. That the training received by dental students at the Otago University was superior to that given at the Sydney and Melbourne Universities was an opinion expressed by Mr. G. Lyons, a prominent Tasmanian dentist and a passenger by the Maunganui. "I have first-hand knowledge of the courses in both Australia and the Dominion and I can say definitely that Otago produces more practical men," he said. He added that he had sent his own son to Otago to be trained. At the Otago school there was a good deal of practical work done. Students who had studied there were eagerly sought after in the Commonwealth, where the course was mainly theoretical. Otago Unfversity was recognised in Australia as having one of the best practical courses in the Empire.
