FACIAL ECZEMA.
NO CAUSE FOR ALARM. DANGER OF FLUSH OF FOOD. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) GISBORNE, this day. Minor cases of facial eczema have been investigated in the Wairoa dietrict and a full range of samples produced by Mr. A. D. M; G. Laing. the Government veterinarian in Hastings. "The outbreaks are not serious and there is no cause for alarm in the district," stated Mr. (i. F. Hudson, officer for the Department of Agriculture in Wairoa. He stated that they had been able to get at the disease at the very early stages, which was essential in efforts made to combat the menace.
The danger of an outbreak of facial eczema was, still possible, especially in those areas where rain had. not fallen for some time, such as the Whakaki, Nuhaka and Mahia districts. Although the season was getting late and fairly cold nighte were being experienced there was still a possibility that after rain had fallen a flush of feed might be responsible for an outbreak.
