WATER SUPPLY INADEQUATE?

That the Auckland City Council had met the board* in every way in respect to better water facilities in "high risk" fire areas was the statement made in a . letter received from, the ' Auckland i Metropolitan Eire Board at this morning's meeting of the council of the A tick- : land Chamber of Commerce in reply to representations made by the chamber, j# The attention of the Fire Board had been drawn to the alleged' inadequacy of water supply for firefighting in some areas in the city—particularly Freeman's :Bay. -• • I The letter read this morning stated that the city waterworks engineer had been advised ov-various - occasions and had made many improvements in supply in recent years, although mucin ground yet remained to "be covered. It was the intention of the Fire Board to communicate again with the Auckland City Council in' this . ..
