CALL FOR HELP.
Niagara's Rush With Doctor To Tanker In Pacific. ENGINEER TAKEN' ILL. (Received 1.30 p.m.) SUVA, this day. A few days out from Suva, the fifth engineer of the tanker W. B. Walker was taken seriously ill. A wireless to the R.M.S. Niagara resulted from a diagnosis of acute appendicitis. The Niagara was diverted 100 mile« from its course, the patient transferred, and successfully operated on.
The Niagara left Auckland on Tuesday, March 21, for Vancouver, via Suva and Honolulu. She left Suva on March 24, 'being due at Honolulu to-morrow, and at Vancouver on April 7. The W. B. Walker left San IVanciaoo for Suva on March. 11.
