SOCIAL EVENING.
LIBRARIAN HONOURED. Large bowls of brightly coloured dahlias and. roses decorated the spacious lecture room of the Auckland BritishIsrael Association, Pacific Buildings, when a happy function was held to celebrate the approaching marriage of Miss Alison Fraser, who for the past three years has been librarian of the association. A large number of friends and young people were welcomed by Mrs. Wade, president of the Women's League. Competitions, musical and elocutionary items and magic entertained the guests, the artists being Miss Gwen Gosling, Master Maurice Lloyd, Miss Cramp, Mr. Broadrib, Mr. Grace and Miss and Master Kerkin. Mr. R. S. Newcomb, president of the association, gave a short talk to the young folk present. Later Mr. Newcomb, after referring to Miss Fraser's devotion to the association and wishing her much happiness in her forthcoming marriage, presented Miss Fraser with a cheque which had been subscribed by the association's members as a token of the high esteem in which she was held.
