COQUETTE RECOVERS.
Coquette appears to have made a complete recovery from her bad fall at the recent Forbury Park meeting, and she is again moving along attractively in her work under F. G. Holmes. This juvenile has given 60me really fine displays in her classic engagements and racing has shown her to be greatly improved in stamina. She is a well-mannered, cleanly-gaited mover, who should reach useful company before the season closes.
PROMISING JUVENILE.
The winner of the first division of the two-year-old event at the last Addington matinee meeting was David Derby, an exceptionally fine type of gelding by Nelson Derby from Queen's Own. a great race mare of a few seasons ago. He began well, but was soon well back in the running with the result that he was forced to cover a deal of ?xtra ground over the concluding half-mile. In spite of this handicap, however, he finished on brilliantly and won with something in hand by a length in 2.19 for the mile. This youngster was first handled at Addington by G.. D. McKendry, but when that trainer gave up his local quartei-s, David Derby was taken over by M. Holmes. He showed promise from the outset, and it is evident that he has developed into a good pacer who will show further improvement.
