A QUIET MORNING.

Owing to the fact that the horses have had a fair amount of racing recently, and that there is no meeting in the Auckland' Province till the Ohinemuri fixture next Friday week, there was little fast work at Ellerelie this morning. No. 2 .grass track was open and it was in excellent order, while there were one or two gallops on the tan.

On the grass, Loyal Grant (Gemmell) ran half a mile in 53 3-ss, the last three in 38 3-ss. Imperator (McTavish) covered three furlongs in 38s, while Tea Gong ran seven in 1.38 3-ss, the last half-mile in 57 2-ss. An unnamed Vaals filly (Sargent) and Stonehaven (L. Dulieu) traversed .three furlongs in 41s, the former impressing, most. - Qa the tan Tybalt (Sargent) went a round'in T«s7;the last six furlongs taking 1.24 4-ss. Ranier (Coon) completed three furlongs in 41s, All Irish (O'Connor) and Sardue (Tremain) occupying 42 2-ss.
