BRITAIN WILL ISSUE RESTRICTION.
DOMINION MEAT. Regardless Of Opposition Of N.Z. And Australia. LONDON PAPER REPORT. United Press Association.—Copyright. (Received 2 p.m.) LONDON, February 10. The "Daily Herald" says that as a result of the Australian and New Zealand refusal to agree to the suggested reduction of exports in mutton and lamb, Sir Reginald DormanSmith, Minister of Agriculture, intends to issue the restriction order over their heads.
This is unprecedented in Empire relations and is likely to have farreaching consequences.
Australia and New Zealand are charging Britain with a flagrant breach of the Ottawa Pact, on account of which Sir Reginald has 110 hope of voluntary co-operation.
Dominion producers in Australia and New Zealand are "standing pat" with regard to this issue, because tliey expect similar demands relating to dairy produce.
