Death Threat For Disobeying
Orders. I.R.A. DOCUMENTS FOUND. United Press Association.—Copyright. (Received 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, February 10. When eight men and two women were charged with conspiracy at Manchester, the prosecution alleged that all were members of tliQ Irish Republican Army and referred to the abortive explosions.
He produced copies of the I.R.A. proclamation and a map of Manchester, on which the police stations, power stations, barracks and railway stations were marked, found in certain of accuseds' possession, and also documents headed "Battalion Orders," declaring that the convention by a two-thirds majority had resolved that the time was ripe to attack EnglaiuL
The general headquarters at Dublin ordered all units in Britain to begin special military training and threatening those who did not comply with orders with the possibility of death.
The discovery was also reported of documents headed, "Methods of War," declaring that members must not adopt black and tan bloodthirstiuess, but must attack public services without causing loss of life.
A lOin canister wrapped in paper, bearing the letters 1.R.A., was found in a letterbox at the Charing Cross Labour Exchange, London. It is believed that it contained an explosive, which the attendant rendered harmless by plunging into water.
