NUT AND RAISIN COOKIES.
Well beat an egg, mix together a quarter of a cup of granulated sugar, half a cupful of fine oatmeal, two cupfuls of Hour, half a cupful of chopped nuts, one cupful of seedless raisins, and a sprinkle of salt. Add two teaspoon- , fills of baking powder, and rub in a piece 1 of butter the si£e of a small egg. '• Whisk one cupful of milk into the 1 I)eaten egg, add the dry ingredients J gradually, and mix well with a wooden ] spoon. Turn the mixture on to a board (
and roll it out to about three-quarters of an inch thickness. Cut it into shapes, and bake in a moderate oven.
