SAVOURY TOAST.

This makes a nice eupper or luncheon for two. Melt a tablespoonful of (butter in a email saucepan, and cook until soft half a chopped onion, but do not 'brown it. Have two large tomatoes peeled and cut into small pieces, and chop a piece (ae much as is wanted) of raw, lean ham. Put with the onion and add pepper, a little salt, and a pinch Of cayenne and mace. Simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Beat two eggs with a tableepoonful of milk, and etir in, removing the saucepan from the heat. Stir quickly until the egg thickens, putting back over a low heat for a minute or two if necessary, but do not let the egg go hard. Divide between two pieces of hot buttered toast.
