There is every indication of unprecedented booking as applications have been received from many parts of the North Island. One hundred ana twenty have come from New Plymouth, owing to the fact that it will not be possible for this company to visit any of the provincial ten tree, with the exception of Hamilton and Palmerston North on the way to Wellington. Every dancer in the company is an heir to the Russian tradition. lhe entire company, numbering over 100, comes to New Zealand fresh from a tour of Australia that can be on y described as sensational, and ballet lovers in the Dominion are indeed indebted to Messrs. J. and X. Tait and Australian and New Zealand Theatres for the privilege of seeing this superb company .of stare. It is the largest ever to have toured the world, and in its ranks are some of the finest exponents of the ballet the world has ever seen. Trina Baranova and Tatiana Riabouchinska are the youngest heirs to the tradition of Alaryinnky, and, as prima ballerinas in the Covent Garden Ballet, tvpify exquisite dancing. The combination, which is under the direction of Victor Dandre, husband of the late Anna Pavlova, has Antal Do rati as its orchestral director. Anton Dolin, the famous British-born ballet dancer, is with the company, and other famous names associatel with it are David Lichnine, Tamara Grigorieva, Paul Petroff, Roman Jasinky, Jan Hoyer, Yurek Shabelevsky, Serge Grigorieff, of the Diaghileff school, Edward Borovansky and Michel Fokine, founder of modern' ballet.
