TEACHING SWIMMING.

GRANT FROM DEPARTMENT. The Auckland Education Board at a meeting this morning received advice from the Education Department that a grant of approximately the same sum a« paid last year would be available thi« season for swimming instruction in school under the board's jurisdiction. The Department stated that the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association wof Id again co-operate with the boards with a view to planning the instruction. The secretary, Mr. D.
