MASSED DISPLAY.
PHYSICAL FITNESS. INSUFFICIENT TIME REMAINS. Although full approval was expressed of the movement, the Auckland Education Board, at a meeting this morning, considered that, in view of the holidays, it would be impossible to arrange for a massed school display during Physical Fitness Week, which is to commence on February 18. The chairman, Mr. J. W. Campbell, said that it had been suggested that the schools should have a physical display in the week, but the schools were not open yet, and they had been in touch with the headmasters. The secretary, Mr. D. W. Dunlop, said that a massed display at the Auckland Domain had been suggested, but there would not be time to get it ready in two weeks. The chairman said that they all heartily supported physical fitness, but it was impossible for the schools to take part at such short notice.
