The erection of the new plant at Tan, about 85 miles from the mines, would mean substantially cheaper lime supplies and consequent lower treatment costs. No. 4 winze at 800 ft south sunk to 36ft; last 10ft in a mixture of ash. and values for the 18ft sunk average lOdwt over 57in. New shaft: j Stripped to full size to 34ft from surface, and timbered. Installation of residue treatment plant almost completed. Flotation plant working very well, and further reduction of residues expected. MOONLIGHT VALLEY GOLD. _ .In February, Moonlight Valley Gold. The company Should have a clean-up to report within the next month, 'but it was expected that only a fraction of the amount due to the vendors could be met from the proceeds of the clean-up. The amount outstanding in calls, if paid, i would be sufficient to meet the payment and keep operations going. Mataki Junction (Murchison i.— Four weeks ended January 12 : lin'«>z 17."O0 yards in 100 hours. The clrrdge was closed on December 21 for holidays and overhaul and on January 17 abnormally bad weather seriously delayed repairs.
