SANDERS CDF. WELLINGTON AGAIN. WINS FOURTH RAGE. (By Telegraph.—Frew Association.) INVERCARGILL, Monday. The Wellington boat Vanguard showed herself as good a sailer in a light breeze as she was in the heavy weather on Friday and Saturday by -winning the fourth race of the Sanders Cup contest at the Bluff to-day. In a very light southwesterly breeze, wlhich fell away at times to a flat calm, Vanguard's victory was a hollow one. She established an early lead of lm 30s and gradually increased it until at one stage she' was leading by more than 10 manutes. The Stewart Island boat, Lavinia, was second, this .being her best performance of tihe contest. The Auckland boat, Marjorie, which has been the most inconsistent of all the boats in this year's contest, never sailed freely in tihe light breeze and calm waters. She was skilfully handled on Saturday afternoon, when she won -the third race. It was expected that she would be Vanguard's most dangerous opponent to-day. After holding a good position early She fell away in the seoond of three rounds of the triangular course and finished fifth, lm 22s ahead of the Southland boat, Vorena, but was 12m 32s .behind Vanguard. Probably the extra weight of the crew accounted in some measure for Marjorie's slowness under the conditions. Vanguard now has two wins, Huia one and Marjorie one. The first boat to win three races will take the Sanders Cup.
