MIDSUMMER EVENTS. ELLERSLIE ON SATURDAY. SEVERAL HORSES IMPRESS. The features of the semi-final gallops at JSllerslie this morning for the Auckland Racing Club's mid-summer meeting, wihich is to be commenced on Saturday next, were a half-mile by Bonnybelle, six furlongs Huntingmore, and seven furlongs by Respectful and Galloping Acre, and a mile by Ringshot, who finished in front of and Jonathan. .Fleetwind and Aero King were also responsible for a good trial over six furlongs on the tan track. The course proper, on which the poles were out 60 feet, and the tan track were used for galloping, atid both provided nrat-class going. Course Proper. Finst Gold Money (Gilchrist), after running her first three furlongs in 41 3-5s was going comfortably at the end of six, which took 24 4-ss. They ran the first tihree in 39 4-ss, and Galloping Acre impressed by his effort. Red Falcon (MsGrath) and Bide-a-Wee (Kerr) sprinted down the straight, hitting out very freely. Marie's Acre (McTavidh) had an advantage over Spinning Wheel (Messervey). with Barrister (Cammick) several lengths away at the conclusion of six furlongs in 1.20 4-5, the last 'halfmile taking 52 l-sg. La Vie Goes Well. Royal Message (Kerr) and La Vie (Messervy) reeled off five furlongs in 1.4 3-5, the first two furlongs being covered in 24 2-ss. There was not much between them, but La Vie was doing best. Electric Spear (McTavish), who was to have gone with the above pair, went away on her own and ran three furlongs along the back in 38s, then being eased up. Tea Gong (Tremain) was too good for Scott Abbey (Dulieu) over half a mile in 54 3-ss, the first furlong taking 13s. Captain Bruce (Cammick) worked lazily* while running seven furlongs in 1.42 1-5.
