DISPOSAL OF FUNDS.
CENTENNIAL EXHIBITION. APPROVAL OF MINISTER. Tlie Auckland Electric Power Board at a meeting yesterday afternoon received a letter from the secretary of the Auckland provincial committee of the New Zealand Centennial Exhibition, expressing appreciation of a donation by the board to the funds. It was pointed out that on the winding up or dissolution of the New Zealand Centennial Exhibition Company, ae«ets remaining after the return and repayment to members of the amount paid up on shares, would be given and applied in and towards such public educational or charitable objects a® the company should by resolution, approved by the Minister of Industries and Commerce, determine. Mr. J.. Sayegh expressed gratification at the announcement. Mr. J. Park said that the local bodies did not come within the category of shareholders. The board had given a donation. In reply to a question the chairman, Mr. S. J. Harbutt, said that a number of straightout donations bad been given. The men who had put their money in would get it back pro rata, according to what was in hand. Be believed that it was the usual way for an exhibition to start. r The letter was received.
