TAXI-DRIVER FXMIOVTIP"It was all a myth," «ald Sergeant T. Kelly in the Fukekohe Police Court yesterday in regard to a »tory told to the police by a taxi-driver, William Goodnll, that another motorist had collided with hil car and then driven away without stopping. Goodall waa charged with negligent driving. Serjeant Kelly said defendant'#* car en prized on .the Mangatawhiri-Pokeno Rnnd on Xovembert 14 and was considerably damaged. To tho magistrate, Mr. J. G. L. Hewitt, defendant said his car wna damaged to the extent of £24. This, he understood, would not be covered by insurance. The magistrate said the to the car was in itself a heavy punishment. He convicted defendant and ordered him to pay coats, 25/.
