SERIOUS CHARGES.
BROUGHT AGAINST WIDOW.
REMANDED IX CUSTODY.
On throe diarsres of unlawfully using an instrument, one charge in connection with one girl and two charges in connection with another girl, a widow. Margaret Wilson, aged •>•'<• before Messrs. S. Leah and C. E. Phillips. .J.I Vs. in tlie Magistrate's Court vesterda v. Detective-Sergeant McHugli prosecuted and accused was represented by Mr. I. J. (ioldstine. Later in the afternoon, after a number of witnesses had been heard. Detct-tive-Serjeant MeHujrh that the hearing should be adjourned by consent until January 10. He produced a medical certificate concerning the second girl whose evidence had yet to be taken and who could not appear for some time.
Mr. (Joldstine agreed to the remand and suggested that reasonable bail be granted. Detective-Sergeant McHugli opposed bail. In granting the remand the Bench refused bail.
