REVUE AT HIS MAJESTY'S,

Playgoers of Auckland and visitors to the citv during the Christmas holidays invariably look forward u> witnessing a stage presentation at His Majesty s Theatre, and this year they will not be disappointed. J. C. Williamson Theatres will present on Saturday afternoon and evening next for the first time Frank Neil's spectacular revue, "Why Be Serious," in which the well-known American comedian, Mr. A\ill Mahoney, will make his first appearance here. It is said that Mr. Mahoney's comedy is free from any suggestive material, and there is not a line in his dialogue or his songs to upset the most unsophisticated person. It is this fact that went a long way towards making his matinee performances popular in Australia. All his sketches and songs are new and original, and his dancing, it is said, will prove a revelation to Auckland playgoers. In Miss Evie Hayes and Miss Violet Carlson arc two personalities that have frequently starred in New York, the first-named being a delightful singer of popular songs, while Miss Carlson is the diminutive comedienne who was so popular in "Balalaika." Whitey Roberts is another noted American revue artist who will be making his initial appearance here on Saturday next. He is a brilliant dancing juggler, and his patter is said to be clever and entertaining. A good singer is always appreciated in a revue show, and in Mr. Lawrence Brooks playgoers will hear one of America's leading tenors, who will present several of the latest song successes. Tex Morto::, the yodelling cowboy, Johnny Bryant. America's most prominent whistling artist, an astonishing mystery man. Bob Geraghtv. a New York entertainer. Bruce Carrol, light comedian, Dorrie Ricketts. soubrette. Tim Blackmail, dancer, and many other artists are also in the company. Frank Neil's famous beauty ballet and a bevy of lovely Australian mannequins, will also be seen. Mr. Mahoney, Miss Hayes and the other members of the company arrived from Sydney by the Awatea yesterday.
