THE SPRINGBOK ELEVEN. (Received 10.30 a.m.) JOHANNESBURG, December 19. The three days' cricket match between England and Transvaal ended in a draw, in which the honours were taken by the local side. The scores were:— Transvaal. —First innings 428 for; eight wickets, declared (Mitchell 133, Viljoen 97, Briscoe 42). Second innings 174 for two wickets (Cnrnow 50, Mitchell 38, Melville 40 not out, Briscoe 38 not out). England.—First inninga 268 (Ames 109). The English hero against Australia, L. Hutton, who was knocked unconscious l>y a fast ball from Davies on Saturday, lias left hospital. The Springbok XI. for the first Test, at: Johannesburg, on December 24, 26, 27 j and 28, will be: — Melville, Mitchell, Langton, Dalton, Wade, Viljoen, Nourse, Van Der By], Davies, Gordon, Bond, JUNIOR REPS. The following junior team to represent the Auckland.
