LEAGUE OF MOTHERS.

Mount Albert. —Mount Albert branch | celebrated their 12th birthday this month. Mrs. M. M. Turner presiding over a large attendance of members. Mrs. Harvey Turner, provincial president. was presented with a beautiful bouquet by Mrs. Pearce from the members of the Mount Albert branch. Mes dames S. O. English. Utting and Silk were welcomed by the president. They each spoke a few words and were presented with bouquets. Mrs. MacGregor. Otago provincial president, was welcomed and gave words of greeting. Mrs. Whyte, president of Kohimarama branch, spoke a few words. Sorrow was expressed by Mrs. M. M. Turner at the death of one of the members, Mrs. Harvey. Members stood for a few moments in silence. Mrs. F. Mcßride. who lias recently returned from a visit to Australia, gave a short but interesting account of some of the schools she had visited. Pianoforte solos by Miss Mavis Beecroft. elocutionary items by Mrs. Beecroft and solos by Mrs. Black added to the enjoyment of the afternoon. Onehunga.—The final meeting for the year was well attended. The president, Mrs. R. W. Kirkpatrick, welcomed visitors from Mangere branch. A special welcome was also given to Dr. Elizabeth Cole, -who recently returned form a trip to England. Mrs. Cole gave an interesting account of her visits to the High Commissioner and Mrs. Jordan (the former president of the branch). Mrs. Billings introduced the subject. "Different Types of Mothers." Animated discussion followed. "How to Make Our Meetings More Interesting." brought forward by Mrs. Kirkpatrick, resulted in useful suggestions. Songs by Mrs. N. Killip were enjoyed during the afternoon. The accompanist was Mrs. A. T. Max. Grey Lynn.—The Grey Lynn branch of the League of Mothers met in St. Columbia Hall. Surrey Crescent, for the monthly meeting, Mrs. Hvnes presiding over a large attendance. The meeting took the form of a president's afternoon. Mesdames Armitage. Derry and Smvthe rendered solos, and Mesdames Jury and Dunne pianoforte selections. Community singing closed a very happy, meeting.
