" NICOLA THE GREAT."
The Wanganella brought to Auckland yesterday Mr. Eric E. \Vahlquist, personal representative of Sir Benjamin Fuller, who has come to make final arrangements for the presentation of a special Ncawon by the famous magician Nicola. Probably the outstanding illusionist in the world to-day, Nicola is well known to Auckland audiences, and lias established his popularity here on previous occasions. He will arrive on Monday by the Niagara from New York and will open his Australasian tour with a gal.i performance on November 19 at His Majesty's Theatre.
All the best tricks he displayed previously will be shown asiiiin with a good leavening 01 new ones. Outstanding will lie the famous "Indian rope trick." hitherto rarely, if ever, performed our of India. Many have heard about this almost legendary teat, hut few have seen it personally. Now, for the first time, it will he presented 011 a brilliantly-lighted stage, exactly a* performed by the Indian fakirs. Lavish staging will be used for the entire presentation, and Nicola has a i?mall army o; competent assistants. Booking arrangements are advertised.
