An electrical storm, of unusual severity. broke over Taihape early this afternoon. Preceded by un-cttlcd weather in the morning, the storm was heralded by heavy thunder and forked lightnin". Although the storm lasted only a short time, the wafer soon banked up where the drains were unable to cope with it, wjth the result that some streets were flooded. No damage was reported.
