UNIVERSITY CLUB.
ANNUAL MEETING.
ELECTION OF OFFICERS.
"The past season has witnessed th. most important event in the history of the club—the entry of Auckland University Rowing Club crews into open regatta competition," stated the report submitted at the annual general meeting at which Mr. L. E. Brooker presided.
It was not expected that the clnb would reach the forefront of regatta racing in its initial season, but the standard of rowing established by the University <aewH augurs well for the future success of the dub, the report added.
Congratulations were extended to all N.Z.U. blue winners, especially A. Godfrey, sole Auckland representative.
The finances of the club are in a healthy state and after allowing £61 12/ depreciation there was an excess income over expenditure of £48 19/.
Special reference was made to tie condition of the club's best and best eight ■nowconsidered definitely unsuitable for racing committee made inquiries regarding the purchase of a new boat, but did not feel justified in committing the club to the expense involved. Suggestions have beat made regarding . increasing funds for the purpose and the'whole question left for the incoming committee's attention.
The election of officers resulted:—Patron, Sir Ernest Davis; president, Professor R. M. Algie; vice-presidents, to be elected by the committee; captain, Mr. A. Godfrey; deputy-captain,-Mr. J. J. Carroll; honorary secretary, Mr. J. Fairbrother; honorary treasurer, Mr. D. C. Algie; executive committee, Messrs. E. W. Henderson, J. P. Hooper, A. Russell, F. R. Wright; honorary auditor, Mr. H. T. Lee; delegates to A.R.A., Messrs. A. Godfrey, L. E. Brooker and J. P. Hooper.
