ARRIVAL FROM SYDNEY.

HEAVY SWELL IN TASMAN.

The Matson liner Monterey arrived from Sydney at 7 a.m. this morning and berthed at Queen's wharf. She met with a westerly wind immediately after leaving Australia, and the weather was clear and fine.

Later, however, the vessel ran into heavy swells, several passengers suffering minor injuries and bruises in falls.
