TOWN CLERK'S DEATH. FINDING AT THE INQUEST. (From Our Own Correspondent.) . PUKEKOHE, Thursday. Che inquest concerning the death of Mr. Seyniouf Stanley Maxton Bish, 41 years, town clerk at Pukekohe, who was killed when he fell from a train in the cutting about 400 yards north of the Pukekohe railway station on September 7, was concluded yesterday afternoon by the coroner, Mr. C. K. Laurie. A verdict wae returned that deceased met his death by being run over by a train, "there being no evidence to enow how he came to get under the train. The evidence was that Mr. Bish left his home at 9.25 a.m. with the intention of going for a walk and thence to the Borough Council office. At 9.30 he arrived at the railway station and purchased a return ticket to Auckland. Until the train arrived at 9.40 he was in conversation with Mr. J. Hal], a carrier, and then took a seat in the carriage next to the guard's van. As the train moved off Mr. Bish was joined by Mr. A. V. Fox, and after a short conversation he left the carriage and was not eeen alive again. The guard, Mr. J. F. Clarke, stated that after the train had travelled about 300 yards he felt a bump and applied the emergency brake and brought the train to a standstill. He looked baok and saw the body of a man on the line. Evidence was given bvtfohn William Rack, employed" by the Public Works Department on line duplication work at the rcene of the accident, and Constable A. P. Packer, as to the recovery of the bodv.

Dr. P. W. Ramsdev described the condition of the body and the injuries suffered. Death, he said, was due to ehock immediately following any one of the injuries described. None of the witnesses was able to say how deceased fell from the train.
