"ALL EYE WASH."
MINISTER'S COMMENT. FARMERS' UNION ATTACK. STATEMENT RESENTED. (By TelesrapJi.—Press Association.) BLENHEIM, this day. "T think the Minister should mind his own confounded business, and leave the farmers' affair* to the Minister concerned with that Department."' declared Mr. A. V. Badman at a meeting of the Blenheim branch of the Farmers.' Union la*t night, when condemning ihe statement made by the Minister of Pirblic Works, the Hon. R. Semple. in an interview here recently that tlvi farming community was more than pleased with tlip guaranteed price, ami the opposition to it was not coming from then: liMt from the Farmers' Union, vvhioii did. not represent the farmers of the country, and never did.
"I think we should eend resentment of that statement," added Mr. Badman. "This busineee about the Farmers , Union not representing the farmers is all eye wash, and anyone saying so is talking through his hat." A member: The Minister might come over here and stir us up if you don't look out. Mr. Badman: Well, let him. He might find someone elee hae a gift of the gab too.
The meeting re? rived to place, on record strong resentment at the Minister's statement.
