Killed. Maurice Desmond Kelly, aged 19, single, drover, of Lake Crescent Hamilton, son of Mr. R. M. Kelly, of Nihoniho, Taumarunui. Injured. Mr. Edward Skelton Dobbie, aged 21, single, butcher, of Whatawhata; concussion and injury to an eye, condition serious.

Mr. Ernest Ray aged 31, single, labourer, of Te Pahu; fractured skull, condition serious.

Mr. Stanley MiKan, aged 22, single, labourer, of Karamu; concussion and abrasions, condition serious. Mr. Parnell Tai, aged 26, married, labourer, of Ohaupo Road, Hamilton; fractured left arm, condition not serious. Mr. Albert Smith, aged 32, labourer;, of Lake Road; Hamilton; injury to forehead, condition not serious.

Mr. Dobbie was driver and Mr. Kelly passenger in the motor-lorry, a two-ton vehicle, which was travelling toward Hamilton. Mr. Thornton was driving the motor-car in the opposite direction, with the other men as passengers.

The collision occurred about two and a -half miles from Hamilton on a bend known as Adams' Corner. So severe was the impact that the lorry was forced round to face the opposite direction from that in which it was originally travelling, its radiator being pushed in. The car was wrecked.

The injured men were taken to the Waikato Hospital in St. John ambulances, Mr. Kelly died soon after admission with' a fractured skttllf A*fter treatment Mr. Smith was able to proceed home.

An Inquest was opened before the coroner, Mr. F. W. Platte, yesterday morning. It was adjourned after evidence of identification had t>een given.
