Mr. Parry -warmly commended the work of the league among Maori women and children. "It is a fine undertaking and well worthy of the assistance of all," he said.
Nurse Cameron asked the Minister to convey to the Government, the league's deep appreciation of the gift. It would largely ihelp in the work needing to be done. She explained that the league's operations were undenominational—a body of women out .to help- one another. The organisation took a keen interest in all matters for the improvement of the health of the Maori people, endeavouring to impart to native mothers, knowledge in the care and feeding of babies, food values, correct methods of cooking and the value of fresh air and sunshine in order to build up resistance against diseases. s
