HIS LAST OVER.
LARWOOD'S BAD LEG
MAY NEVER PLAY AGAIN.
DUE TO AUSTRALIA'S «HAKD WICKETS." (SpeclaL—B? Air Mail.) LONDON", August 13. Harold Larwood, the famous fast bowler, is ugain having trouble with his knee, which he always declares was originally damaged by the hard Australian wickets during the "bodyline" tour six years ago. He said this week that he might never play in county cricket again. "I'm not certain whether I haven't finished with first-cla*s cricket," declared Larwood. "I've got this trouble in my knee, .and despite all the attention of skilled doctors and the medical staff I can t run on it. 1 believe the injury is due to the hard wickets, 'down under.' This is the trouble I had occasionally last season, and now it seems I've got it for good."'
When told of Larwood's statement, A. . I,'arr. the former Xotts captain, who so valiantly defended Larwood over the "bodyline" controversy, said: "If Larwood i* through with county cricket it's something to be very much regretted, and I am extremely sorry to'hear that his injury is troubling him so badlv."
