CASH CYCLING.
METROPOLITAN CLUB.
J. P. Sheehan (10.15), his second ride in competition, made- a promising start and good impression by winning the Metropolitan Club's 15 miles' event for the Bicknell Cup. This lad wae going well the previous week until he struck mechanical trouble. The Sheehans have done well of late and under the able coaching of his two cousins, J. P. should develop on the right lines. E. Harrison (3.45) rode a solid race to fill the position of runner-up, a position be h«s filled twice recently. His consistency should soon meet with a reward, however, and in the longer event* to come find him harder to beat. J. Sheehan (30s), third, showed a return to form again. Since winning the club's championship he has not produced his former brilliance.' Still the Sheehan family have won three in a row. J. Bicknell (scratch) beat his brother Percy (scratch) in a good tussle for fastest honours. Jack's prospects for the provincial junior championship appear very bright.
