THREE ACCUSED. WOMAN AND TWO MEN. £7000 GEMS VANISHED. (By Air Mail.) LOXDOX, August 12. Jewellery worth thousands of pounds. including pearln, emeralds and diamond*, was displayed before- the magistrates at Hove. In the dock, accused of thoft, were, a housekeeper and two unemployed salesmen. Dorcas Ellen Parker, ajxed 48. James M;ioc. 44, and Cieorge Husband, 41. were scut for trial charged with being concerned together in stealing jewellery worth £7(>!»I and £10 in notes from a house in Knton Gardens, Hove, wliere the woman was employed by Mrs. Beatrice Adelaide Clow, widow of a former member of the London Stock Kxchange. Mace was also accused of biganioiwly marrying Parker, who was charged with aiding and abetting him. They were i»ent for trial on these charges, too. Mr. J. K. Stevens, prosecuting, Mrs. Clow went to a cinema on the afternoon of July 22. leaving in the house Parker, who had been her housekeeper for about 20 years. She atao left in the house Mnce, who. with Parker, occupied basement rooms. After Mrs. (low returned. Parker and Maee, went out. and Mr*. Clow found her bedroom in a state of disorder, with the drawers on the dressing table open and the contents strewn about. Two wardrobe, doors had been forced open, and the articles mentioned in the charge were missing. " In My Pocket." When Parker and Mace returned Mrs. Clow told Parker that her jewels had been stolen. Expressing surprise. Parker said. '"I have been in a'; the afternoon. I would not taKfe anything. I am innocent." Inspector Yates asked Mace about the man who had been visiting him recently. Mace made a statement in which he said Husband had gone upstairs that afternoon and taken away the jewellery. ■ Mr. Stevens eaid that when Husband was arrested in a club at Putney. S.W.. on July 25, he stated. "1 did it'when I was drunk. The stuff i* in my pocket j now." i
