AUCKLAND CONTROL.

SYDNEY TEAM'S VISIT. PROVINCIAL MATCHES DECLINED. At the meeting of the Auckland Rugby League Control Board last evening the chairman, Mr. G. Grey Campbell, referred to the death of Mr. T. S. Bellamy, a vicepresident, who was a keen regular patron of C'ailaw Park and a club enthusiast. A motion of condolence was passed to relatives. After fixing the ground allocatione for the second series in the Koope Kooster competition, and deciding to stage the Manukaii-i'apakura match at Papakura, the board made the draw for the reserve grade knock-out first series for the Sta!hud Cup. Interest in the cabled report from Sydney indicating the surprise riee of Eastern Suburbs to qualify for the metropolitan championship final was expressed by board members, in view of the club"s statement that it was willing, if successful, to make the trip to Auckland. Letters from the South Auckland and Inangahna Ku«by Leagues seeking representative fixtures at Auckland were discustsed and it was decided that owing to the local programme being full for the balance of the the visits had to be regrettably declined. In response to invitations for teams to visit Taumarunui, New Plymouth and Bay of Plenty, it was resolved to circularise the senior clubs as to arranging the trips. The Kensington s#»iior team of Whangarei is to be matched with the reserve grade bye team on Saturdov week. The _ Canterbury Centre officially conveyed its thanks and appreciation for the hospitality to their team on its recent visit. The lour was regarded as an unqualified success and it was felt the playere had greatly benefited from the experience. In thanking the Auckland League for making the visit possible, the services of Mr. E. Lee as coach to the visitors were acknowledged. The theft of players' belongings from he dressing shed at . the Domain wae eported by Manukau Club, and, as the result of persistent complaints, it was decided to refer the matter to the police.
